Home / What We Do
Our Programs remove barriers and provide practical, emotional and financial support for families, for as long as they need it – so a family stays at the heart of their child’s healthcare, ensuring the best possible health outcomes.
We believe that “home” is more than four walls and a roof over your head. That’s why our Ronald McDonald House onsite at the Centenary Hospital for Women & Children provides families with all the comforts of home, plus the compassion of staff, volunteers, and other families – all just steps away from their child’s bedside, so they can focus on what matters most – caring for their ill or injured child.
Our Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Centenary Hospital for Women & Children is a calm space away from the medical environment, where family stays close while taking a moment to breathe. During long days of tests and treatment, it gives a families a safe place to play, rest, freshen up, grab a bite to eat, or simply pause.
A place for families to have space and to breathe again. Away from clinical settings, families can rest, reconnect, and spend special time together simply being a
family. In moments when togetherness matters most, these stays help families gain strength, feel normal again and continue making memories
together.
During long hospital days, small moments of comfort can make a big difference. Hospitality Carts bring those moments right to the bedside, offering comfort, support and kind conversation from our volunteers and delivering essential items that help families stay close to their ill or injured child. Stocked with practical items, gentle comforts and needed distractions, they offer a little lift exactly when it’s needed most. By easing the load and brightening the day, Hospitality Carts help families feel supported, stay connected, and face each new moment
together.
When a child is unwell, school can quickly fall away. Lessons are missed, routines disappear, and confidence can fade. For families and kids already
carrying so much, this can be another heavy worry. The Ronald McDonald House Learning Program helps children re-connect to learning and a sense of normal life. Families can focus on their child’s care, knowing learning willbe supported.
